Auslan

Charles La Trobe hosts North Melbourne’s Deaf Facility – a specialised support infrastructure for secondary school aged students who are deaf or have a hearing impairment – so it makes sense for our language curriculum to be exclusively Auslan.

Auslan is the sign language of the Australian Deaf community. It is offered as a language program pathway for all primary and secondary school students. The College is proud to offer Auslan as a VCE subject.
